AI 2D-to-3D reconstruction for BIM
Turn 2D drawings into a 3D BIM model.
Upload floor plans or a full PDF drawing set. VeloArch reads the walls, doors, windows and rooms, measures the real scale, and rebuilds them as an IFC model you can open in Revit or any BIM tool.
No credit card required.
The bottleneck
Most buildings only exist on paper
Renovations, retrofits and bids start from PDFs and scans, not models. Someone has to redraw every wall before BIM work can begin.
Redrawing is slow
Tracing a drawing set into Revit by hand takes days per level, and the downstream team waits for it.
Redrawing introduces errors
A wall traced a few inches off, or a door on the wrong side, travels into every quantity and clash check after it.
Nobody can tell where a line came from
Once a model is redrawn, the link back to the sheet it was read from is gone, so reviewing it means starting over.
Workflow
From PDF to IFC in four steps
The AI does the reading and the rebuilding. You stay in charge of the result.
- 01
Upload the drawings
Drop in a multi-sheet PDF drawing set, vector or scanned. VeloArch catalogs every sheet, finds the floor plans and works out which level each one shows.
- 02
AI reads the plan
Each plan is read for walls, doors, windows and rooms, then turned into clean geometry at real-world scale, measured from the dimension strings on the drawing rather than assumed.
- 03
Review over the original
Open the result in the plan editor with the source sheet underneath. Fix anything the AI got wrong; every save is kept as a version.
- 04
Export to BIM
Export IFC4 for any BIM tool, or bring the model into Revit. Element IDs stay the same when you re-run an extraction, so review work is never orphaned.
Capabilities
A model you can build on, not a picture of one
Every element is a real BIM element, measured from the drawing and traceable back to it.
Whole drawing sets
Reads multi-sheet PDF packages, not just single images: sheets are catalogued and plans matched to their levels.
Real-world scale
Scale comes from the dimension chains printed on the plan and is checked against them, so the model measures true.
Real BIM elements
Walls, doors, windows and spaces come out as IFC building elements with thickness, height and openings hosted in their walls.
Review against the source
The original sheet sits under the plan in the editor at its exact scale, so checking the AI's work is a glance, not a redraw.
Stable, traceable IDs
Every element gets a deterministic IFC GlobalId. Re-extract after a revision and unchanged elements keep their identity.
Built for teams
Organizations get role-based access and a tamper-evident audit log of who uploaded, changed and exported what.

Who it is for
Wherever a model has to start from paper
Renovation and existing conditions
Start design work from a model of the building as drawn, instead of a week of tracing.

FAQ
Questions BIM teams ask first
What can I upload?
PDF drawings: a full multi-sheet set or a single plan, vector or scanned. VeloArch finds the floor plans in a set on its own.
What comes out?
An IFC4 model with walls, doors, windows and spaces as real building elements, which opens in Revit and any BIM tool that reads IFC. Revit users can also build the model natively through the provided Dynamo graphs.
How accurate is it?
Good enough to start from, and always reviewable. Scale is measured from the drawing's own dimensions, and the plan editor shows the original sheet underneath so you can correct anything the AI missed before exporting.
What happens when the drawings are revised?
Upload the new set and extract again. Element IDs are derived from the drawing, not random, so elements that did not change keep their IDs and your review work carries over.
Is my data used to train models?
No. Your drawings stay in your project and are not used to train models. Organizations can control who sees each project by role.
